Complimentary IBM/Skyway Webinar:
Using IBM Rational Software Architect and Skyway Builder to Accelerate Spring Application Development.

Watch Webinar Replay
Join IBM Rational Product Manager William T. Smith (Architecture Management) and Skyway Software CTO Jared Rodriguez for a webinar demonstrating how to accelerate the creation of Spring applications using Skyway Builder’s integration with Rational Software Architect (RSA).
Over 50% of all Java applications being developed today are based on the Spring Framework. Skyway Builder, a Domain-Specific Language (DSL) for Spring, and its integration with Rational Software Architect enable a Spring application to be envisioned and modeled within Rational using UML. That UML is then transformed into the Spring DSL and a fully functional, fully wired Spring application that can be deployed to WebSphere and other application servers.

Attendees will learn:
- How to envision and model Spring applications within Rational using UML
- How to transform UML into fully functional, fully wired Spring applications
- How to sync working Spring applications with their UML models through bi-directional integration

Additional information:
The Skyway Builder view of the model provides a simple, yet powerful mechanism for filling in the Spring-specific implementation details around Spring MVC, Web Flow, ORM, Services and DAO to create and deploy complex Spring applications without requiring deep knowledge of the Spring Framework itself. Developers of all skill ranges, from Spring novices to Spring experts, will find incredible acceleration of application development with almost no learning curve.
Skyway Builder makes use of core Eclipse and Rational technologies such as EMF, GMF and JDT to provide a rich and powerful environment that can be tailored to different development lifecycles and different code styles. Existing code and Spring configurations can be directly integrated into the Spring DSL to leverage existing assets. Augment existing Spring applications with Skyway Builder with no rework. Developers have full control over the DSL and can change the way code and configurations are generated and add new artifacts to be generated, all through Eclipse extension points. Two-way transfer from the Spring DSL to RSA UML is supported, and Skyway Builder makes use of RAD deployment.
