Extend IBM Rational with Skyway Builder and deliver working Spring applications directly from UML

To enable the productivity and quality benefits of full model driven development, Skyway Builder Enterprise Edition (EE) now integrates with the following Rational Architecture and Construction solutions:

  • Rational Software Architect (RSA)
  • Rational Software Modeler (RSM)
  • Rational Application Developer (RAD)

This integration means that a working Spring application can now be envisioned and modeled within Rational using the Unified Modeling Language (UML). Skyway Builder transforms the UML into a fully functional Spring application that can be deployed to WebSphere and other application servers. The integration is bi-directional: implementation-level details captured in Skyway Builder may also be sent back to Rational, keeping the UML models in sync with the working Spring application.
